A video allegedly showing a man resembling cryptocurrency entrepreneur and Honorary Consul of Romania in Kharkiv Mykola Udianskyi firing an automatic weapon at another person has been made public by former 1+1 TV presenter Serhii Ivanov, who called on Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha to investigate the incident, according to Ukrainski Novyny.

“A human hunt. This is neither a frontline story nor the plot of an action movie. It is reality. In this video, you can see Kharkiv businessman, Doctor of Law, Forbes-listed entrepreneur, and Honorary Consul of Romania in Kharkiv Mykola Udianskyi firing an automatic weapon at a man. The victim is his own bodyguard, whom the wealthy businessman allegedly chose to use as a target. I’m not very familiar with Romanian diplomatic etiquette—perhaps it includes this kind of Dracula-style tradition—but in Ukraine, such actions can lead to imprisonment,” the journalist stated.

Ivanov said that police in the Kharkiv region opened a criminal investigation on charges of hooliganism but later closed the case after failing to identify the person who fired the weapon.

The journalist also claims that this is not the first instance of aggressive behavior by the businessman toward people in his circle and points to his alleged ties to the entourage of Ramzan Kadyrov and an organized criminal group.

“All of this reminds me of the brutal culture associated with Kadyrov, which is hardly surprising given that the honorary consul has long been linked to Kadyrov’s circle and has even received awards from one of Sergei Lavrov’s protégés—the evidence is available. Udianskyi also maintains relations with Leonid Mitrov, known as ‘Mitrukha,’ the leader of the ‘Zalyutynski’ organized crime group, who was recently arrested in France,” Ivanov claims.

According to him, he decided to draw public attention to the case after the businessman made bold political statements, claiming credit for Romania’s delivery of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.

“All this absurdity, as is often the case, could have remained nothing more than regional eccentricity if the honorary consul, intoxicated by his own sense of importance, hadn’t claimed that it was he who ‘arranged’ the Patriot systems from Romania. Him—not the presidents of the United States or Romania,” Ivanov said.

In his opinion, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha should determine who approved Udianskyi’s appointment to the diplomatic position and dismiss him as Honorary Consul of Romania in Kharkiv, arguing that his public statements discredit the state and undermine Ukraine’s national interests.

“I believe it is time for the minister to correct these mistakes and restore order in Ukraine’s diplomatic service by removing this controversial ‘consul,’ whose activities are accompanied by a noticeable Russian footprint, before they trigger a diplomatic scandal. And the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) should finally put an end to the career of the self-appointed ‘diplomat’ Udianskyi,” Serhii Ivanov concluded.
